New U.S. "Super-Destroyer". One of the new 2.200-ton Allen M. Summer class of American "super-destroyer"makes its tast run past the Statue of Liberty (right, background) in waters near New Yotk City. With its clean lines and heavy armor, the new warship combines more power, more maneuverability and more impregnability than former craft of this type. It is typical of the new, improved sea weapons being added to the U.S. Navy, which has received 65,000 new vessels since 1939, and is still expanding for operations against Japan in the Pacific.
