Four-motored Liberator bombers, sister ships of the mighty warplanes that have blasted German and Japanese military installations and bases, are lined up as far as the eye can see on the production line of one of the several U.S. factories producing them. More than 1,000 four-engined bombers were among 8,789 planes turned out by U.S. aircraft factories in November 1943. In the first 11 months of 1943 U.S. factories produced 76,000 planes.'
