US Troops capture Japanese headquarters at Hollandia. American soldiers display a Japanese flag which once flew atop the battered enemy headquarters (background) near Hollandia, Northern New Guinea, where US amphibious forces pushed ashore on April 22, 1944. The building, shatered by US bombardment, housed the Japanese officer commanding enemy troops.
